Framed Image was founded in 1980 by Herb Padzensky; in 1997 the business was purchased by Lee Keeler. We have been in the same Happy Canyon Shopping Center location for 26 years. Since the late 1990’s our business has grown substantially to require a dedicated framing location, in addition to our original design center in Happy Canyon Shopping Center.

Ten years ago our clientele was Southeast Denver, Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village focused. In the last decade we have tripled our client base to include all areas of the Denver Metropolitan Area, Eagle and Pitkin counties as well as a client base in Wyoming and New Mexico.

Framed Image carries over 4000 framing samples from 12 countries. We have paid particular attention to insure that we have frames in all price ranges and for every taste.  We represent APF-Abe Munn Company, frame makers for the White House, the Metropolitan and MOMA Museums. They are one of the finest finished corner frame makers in the US.

Our specialty lies in getting to the heart of what our clients needs, be it framing their child’s first art effort, framing a Picasso original, or preserving a museum quality artifact. At Framed Image we are committed to design excellence. We will take your vision of how your art should look, or lend you our design expertise, to craft a piece you will be proud to display.

We know our proficiencies, and when there is a service you require that is not in our realm of expertise we will solicit a respected craftsman’s skills. Be it for restoration, art transportation and installation or appraisal. We know where we excel and we only recommend experts in their respective fields.

One of the best ways to describe Framed Image, is to tell you what we are not.
We are not a chain, or a big box location where you have no idea who framed your artwork. When a frame is created for your artwork, one of our craftsmen completes your order, from start to finish. Their business card lives on the back of your finished piece, their signature. We are proud to not be another production, factory style shop. We are proud that we take longer to complete a job than some of the 1day, 1 week standards in this industry.   We work with Denver’s Top Designers we know when to design fashion and when to design classic. We know that every piece of artwork in your home is not a masterpiece; we just want it to look like one. Our cutting edge design and execution are what make us different. We are also NOT AFRAID to save our clients money. Is the art to be framed the focal point of a room, a masterpiece, or a decorative accessory for that new powder room? “Pick your battles”.

The owner of Framed Image is Lee Keeler. Lee holds a BFA in Painting/Printmaking and a Minor in Art History from Kansas City Art Institute. She started in the industry in 1975 “to frame my own artwork for galleries”. Before purchasing the company she “did a decade” at Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn/Hold Everything corporation. “I retired in 1997 with an intention to build a company, where we had a relationship with each client and we crafted each and every piece with quality and style in mind. I took what I learned at William-Sonoma about educating your customer to what’s happening in the rest of the world, and translated it to fine art custom framing.  She has an admitted addiction for framing materials, hand picking each sample herself for quality and style.

Becky Brooks, designer, came to us several years ago. She was living in California; we recruited her back to Colorado. Becky owned Schaffer Bridal for many years is an artist in her own right and has impeccable taste in design and attention to detail.  She says,” Design seems to be innate to me and I love enhancing artwork, whether it has been done by a child or an acclaimed artist. Certified training and numerous classes in our field have expanded my natural talent and expertise making this an area I excel in. Designing and presenting the finished artwork to our clients is as exciting as it is rewarding.”

Lee Lindsay CPF, our lead craftsman and trainer, was my first hire after acquiring Framed Image in 1997. Lee has 25 years in his craft, and is the person that “figures out” how to execute all of the unusual things we ask him to frame. In his spare time, Lee owns and operates, Fly by Night, a company dedicated to edgy, over the top motorcycle art.

Michelle Leone purchasing agent and craftsman is the glue that holds the guys together. Michelle’s background was with a large materials wholesaler. She knows every material produced, who manufactures it, and how long it will take us to get it. Michelle started her framing apprenticeship 3 years ago and has become as Lee Lindsay says” as picky as Rick and I are about detail and the finished piece”.  Michelle has four kids, a dog and a house in the suburbs.
