Why
I Paint
Art has always
been my passion. I have been
an artist since childhood and have
always followed it where it would
take me. I believe God is at the
center of all my work, it is what I
feel. Painting is my meditation,
prayer and commitment to becoming
the best artist I can be.
Seeing the world
as a painter is a skill that
develops in the artist over time.
Landscape painting, for example, is
an endless joy of seeing shape,
composition, simplifying,
placement, and design. As an artist
I hope to always improve on these
skills over my lifetime. My painting
desire exists within; to me forward
is the way … always forward!
I am exploring my
world through art … seeking. Does
the size of the canvas make a
difference? What of its color? Is it
my desire and drive? Perhaps it is
brushwork? Is it mastering the
medium combined with play? I have
found all of these in great art at
one time or another. Yet for myself
I feel I have landed on two feelings
that I can not paint without. They
are belief in a greater power and
faith that my painting somehow fits
in. I know what my art is to me. An
overwhelming need to explore and
connect with God, beauty, humility,
joy, betterment, feeling,
enlightenment, trust and fun.
Communication of these to the viewer
is why I paint.
With twenty years
of professional painting behind me I
have found myself represented at any
given time by several galleries
across the country (see
"Galleries"). However the biggest
joy I receive is from the pleasure
and feed back of the people who own
my paintings. That to me is what
selling my work is all about.
I am also
committed to working directly with
the collector. Modern impressionism
is my focus. Commissions of larger
paintings are available, and I offer
unusually fast turnaround times. Oil
painting lessons are available one
on one or in groups if you desire to
get “behind the brush”. All web
transactions are done through Pay
Pal and are secure. Thank you for
