Teresa
Schroder
back to
gallery artists
Being
born and raised in Oklahoma, Teresa
has held the love of the country
close to her heart, both in her art
and in her way of life.
Teresa began her
art career while in high school. Her
art teacher, Dee Maddox encouraged
her to enter many art shows and
competitions. This brought her many
awards including a college art
scholarship. While still in high
school she was hired by an art
studio to teach classes to thirty
plus students.
She majored in Art
at the University of Central
Oklahoma and paid her way through
college working at the Cowboy Hall
of Fame and Heritage Center, and
through commission work. During her
senior year she began working in
commercial art and design which led
to magazine publication.
Teresa is married
to a native Coloradoan and they have
two children. Before moving to
Colorado, she and her family lived
in the Osage Hills of Oklahoma.
Leaving her home state was a
difficult move, but she soon settled
in and was awed by the beauty of the
Colorado landscape. Becoming
involved in the Art Students League
of Denver and meeting fellow artists
gave her a solid connection with the
art community there.
Teresa has
continued her art studies with Kim
English, Robert Spooner, Mark
Dailey, and Evelyn Martinez; plus,
through workshops with Jerry Yarnell
(noted PBS artist), and pastel
artist, Bruce Gomez. She is a member
of Oil Painters of America and
teaches classes from her studio,
“Aspen Arts Studio & Gallery”, in
Conifer, CO. Her work has been
accepted in the 2006 “Salon
International” show hosted by The
International Museum of Contemporary
Masters of Fine Art.
Her work has been
shown in various galleries including
RL Foster Gallery, Denver. She is
currently represented by KD Moore
Gallery, Evergreen CO., and exhibits
in invitational shows. Her work is
in private and public collections
including the Tulsa Trust
Authorities, Tulsa, Oklahoma. |
